The BAS Cares community service team has once again stepped up to help the local community. Upon learning that the Upper Merion Area Community Cupboard (UMACC) needed help, BAS team members sprung into action.

The Community Cupboard is a newly created pantry located within the community of Upper Merion. The UMACC is a collaborative and empathetic resource that serves the needs of local schools, municipalities, communities of faith and their neighbors. The pantry provides food to neighbors who are hungry or food insufficient. UMACC opens its doors to the community of Upper Merion to shop twice a month. They do not ask for identification or proof of income. The goal of the Community Cupboard is to strengthen the most vulnerable neighbors through food supplementation. Simply put, the Community Cupboard provides a reserve of food items to anyone who is in need.

Recently, the Community Cupboard’s food reserves dropped to dangerously low levels.

Becoming aware of a need, the BAS Cares Team started a donation drive to help with restocking the Community Cupboard's shelves. BAS employees were asked to consider donating some various non-perishable food items to the Community Cupboard. BAS delivered the items to help fellow community members with food needs.
