The IRS issued final 2016 1094-C and 1095-C Forms and instructions.  Final B Forms and instructions were issued a few weeks ago.

Form 1095-C is furnished by an applicable large employer to its full-time/full-time equivalent employees and to its employees covered under a self-funded health plan.

There are few changes from the 2015 forms.  Some of the changes that were made include:

  • Removing codes for 2015 transitional relief;
  • Adding a notation on the 1095 form indicating that it is not submitted with the recipient’s tax return;
  • Adding a new code to reflect a conditional offer of coverage to a spouse; and
  • Removing descriptions of transitional relief.

Employers must make sure to use the new forms and follow the corresponding instructions when preparing for ACA reporting.

BAS has analyzed the forms and updated its programming logic to reflect the new coding options. For information about BAS’ ACA data collection and reporting service, contact your account manager or solutions@BASusa.com
